Rosatom subsidiary confirmed its compliance with international standards for the supply of training simulators to Paks-2 NPP (Hungary)

15.10.2026
The Engineering and Technology Center GET has successfully passed the international Supplier’s Nuclear Evaluation audit

As part of the contract between Engineering and Technology Center GET JSC (JSC GET a subsidiary of Rosatom Service JSC, the Electric Power Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) and Atomstroyexport JSC (the Engineering Division of the Rosatom State Corporation) for the supply of full-scope and analytical simulators to Paks-2 NPP, a Supplier’s Nuclear Evaluation (SNE) audit was conducted. The SNE procedure is designed to assess a supplier’s capabilities and readiness to perform work in accordance with the nuclear requirements of Paks-2 project.

In accordance with its current certifications, ETC GET JSC  may begin designing and manufacturing full-scale and analytical simulators for the training center as part of the Paks-2 NPP project — their use ensures that nuclear power plant operators are trained under conditions that closely resemble actual operations, thereby minimizing the risk of abnormal situations and accidents in the future.

The inspection was conducted by representatives of the audit team from Atomstroyexport JSC.

The issuance of SNE certificates confirmed that ETC GET JSC complies with the customer’s international requirements. Supply of the analytical simulator to Paks-2 NPP site is scheduled for December 2027, and the full-scope simulator will arrive at the training center in spring of 2028.

Simulators manufactured by ETC GET JSC have already been installed at such international sites as Tianwan NPP (China), Xudapu NPP (China), Kudankulam NPP (India), Belarusian NPP (Belarus), Rooppur NPP (Bangladesh),  El Dabaa NPP (Egypt), as well as Minsk CHPP-4 and Mozyr CHPP, located in Belarus.

For reference:

The Paks-2 NPP project is being constructed on “turnkey” basis and is being implemented pursuant to the Agreement between the Government of Hungary and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The general contractor is Atomstroyexport JSC (the Engineering Division of the Rosatom State Corporation).

The Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation is the largest producer of low-carbon electric power in Russia. Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, the Division management company, operates 10 functioning nuclear power plants, including the world’s only floating nuclear power plant (FNPP). 34 power units with a total capacity of about 29.8 GW generate about 19 % of electricity in Russia. Division enterprises provide a full range of services for commissioning, repair, maintenance and training of personnel for nuclear power units; they produce isotopes for medicine, agriculture and microelectronics; new areas of activity are actively developing within its framework (development of a network of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, biogas stations, production of industrial robots, etc.).

The Engineering Division of the Rosatom State Corporation brings together leading companies in the nuclear industry: the management company Atomstroyexport JSC, the United Design Institute—Atomenergoproekt JSC (which includes the Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and St. Petersburg institutes and their branches), and subsidiary construction organizations. The division ranks first in the world in terms of its order portfolio and the number of nuclear power plants currently under construction in various countries around the world. Overseas projects account for approximately 80% of revenue. The Engineering Division designs and constructs large-, medium-, and small-capacity nuclear power plants in Russia and other countries; provides a full range of EPC, EP, and EPC(M) services; and develops proprietary digital products for managing the construction of complex engineering projects. The division draws on the achievements of the Russian nuclear industry and modern innovative technologies. www.ase-ec.ru
