The WIN Russia conference addressed systemic barriers and new incentives for the development of the robotics industry in the country
The largest industry trade show in Russia for machinery, equipment, automation, and robotics for warehouse and manufacturing logistics, CeMAT (from the German Centrum für Materialflusstechnik), took place at Crocus Expo from September 14 to 16, 2026. As part of the event, an industry conference for executives of manufacturing companies, “World of Industry Russia 2026,” was held. The session “Russian Robotics: New Challenges and Drivers” brought together experts from Rosatom IntelMash LLC (a subsidiary of Rosatom Service JSC, part of the Rosatom State Corporation) discussed current issues related to the development of the regulatory framework, regional aspects of implementing robotic solutions, and the formation of a network of domestic integrators as a key driver of the industry’s development.
The participants in the discussion noted that the most effective implementation strategy involves automating the simplest possible production area or business process. This approach makes it possible to quickly demonstrate results, lower barriers to implementation, and build trust in the technology among company executives.
“Our goal is to increase the density of robot deployment at industrial facilities. A robot is a tool that solves practical problems and improves production safety and efficiency. We manufacture these tools. We have proven that robotics is not just ‘hardware’ but a high-precision and safe tool for solving manufacturing challenges,” noted Alexander Petrov, Commercial Director of Rosatom IntelMash.
Experts also emphasized that the emergence of a wide variety of logistics solutions expands the possibilities of industrial automation—provided a systematic, comprehensive approach is taken.

The Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation is the largest producer of low-carbon electric power in Russia. Rosenergoatom Concern JSC, the Division management company, operates 11 functioning nuclear power plants, including the world’s only floating nuclear power plant (FNPP). 33 power units with a total capacity of 28.5 GW already generate about 19 % of electricity in Russia. Division enterprises provide a full range of services for commissioning, repair, maintenance and training of personnel for nuclear power units; they produce isotopes for medicine, agriculture and microelectronics; new areas of activity are actively developing within its framework (development of a network of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, biogas stations, production of industrial robots, etc.) rosenergoatom.ru
Rosatom Service JSC (part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) provides servicing to energy facilities in various power industries. The company is present in almost every country with operating VVER NPP outside Russia. The geography of Rosatom Service JSC projects covers more than 15 countries around the world, from Europe to Asia. The references of Rosatom Service JSC include comprehensive projects for service life extension, maintenance and repair, supply of equipment and SPTA, nuclear infrastructure, consulting services, and training. Since 2022, the company has been actively developing the areas of renewable energy: small hydropower, biogas reactors, landfill gas. The BOOТ (build-own-operate-trade) model is implemented as a priority. Rosatom Service JSC references in the renewable energy sources sector include the design of a cascade of hydroelectric power plants in Bulgaria, HPP for an isolated power consumer in Kyrgyzstan, and the supply of equipment for the Segozerskaya HPP in Karelia. In the near future, the company is also planning to take the position of a key business participant in the construction of high-capacity bioreactors, implementing the Rosatom State Corporation’s development strategy using “green energy”. As part of the “Robotics” business line, the company offers services for the design and manufacture of robotic systems and other non-standard equipment for nuclear industry enterprises and beyond. rosatom-service.ru
Rosatom Intelmash LLC is the industry-specific robotics integrator for the Rosatom State Corporation and a subsidiary of Rosatom Service JSC. The company develops and implements comprehensive industrial automation and robotics solutions for enterprises in the nuclear industry, critical infrastructure, and other strategic sectors of the Russian economy. rosatom-intelmash.ru
The Russian industry has the goal to ensure process sovereignty and transition to the latest domestic technologies in the shortest time possible. The state and large domestic companies are channeling resources to accelerate the development of the domestic research, infrastructure, and scientific and process base. The development of human resources, innovations and new high-tech equipment allows Rosatom and its enterprises to occupy new markets, increasing the competitiveness of the nuclear industry and the Russian industry as a whole.
