JSC ETC GET starts development of mathematical models for domestic MRI

24.10.2023

An expanded technical meeting on the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was held on October 10-13 at the Institute of Fine Mechanics and Optics (IFMO, St. Petersburg) university site.

An active work on the project to develop a domestic MRI began in the industry this autumn under the leadership of JSC NIITFA (a subdivision of JSC Rusatom Healthcare) - and the event became a reference point in the work coordination of the involved organizations: JSC ETC GET, JSC NIITFA, JSC TWEL etc. The project will be completed in 2027.

MRI has the highest level of diagnostic accuracy in medicine, unattainable by other imaging methods, and is used in a wide variety of fields - neurology, oncology, angiology, etc.

The current and potential participants in the MRI project attended the meeting, and there were presentations on MRI fundamentals, spectrometer architecture, receiver coil organization, and specialized software. During the meeting, the representative of JSC ETC GET presented to the audience the digital product REPEAT and 0D/1D modeling, as well as REPEAT software use to create mathematical models in the project. The speaker demonstrated the models already developed for the project, the planned scheme for MVP software development, and the Open Source tools that will be used in MVP.

JSC ETC GET as a high-tech company developing modern digital solutions for the future, provides the following directions in this project - development of MRI mathematical models and MRI engineering systems, as well as development of user software (for operator and doctor). JSC ETC GET is currently engaged in the development of schematic design as a basis for the whole work set, as well as creation of MVP software system and MVP mathematical models to elaborate a number of hypotheses on the project.

According to the meeting results, the participants emphasized the importance of effective cooperation for the successful implementation of the project, set the key vectors of its implementation, and identified further steps within the project roadmap.
